Following is a pretty cool web site that shares interesting videos of remarkable talks and speeches. TED stands for technology, entertainment, and design. It is a nonprofit group. I have posted one of the videos, which is on the use of mobile texting to report violence.

Things to consider:
1.) impact of crowd sourcing on system and network capacity.
2.) filtering of uploaded information in a socially responsible way.
On number one, texting is pretty efficient and scaling of capacity would seem to be easier than scaling a system to support more rich content like video or picture uploads. Network architecture design might have to change to a more regional design rather than national centralization of critical network components to support the efficient uploading of rich content. Think about the content uploading capabilities of the iPhone or iPhone like devices.
On number two, I'm not quite sure what I'm thinking about here. However, it seems to me the algorithms used in any filtering system that is part of the network for allowing or disallowing content uploads needs to factor in any corporate or social responsibilities that involve government reporting. Also, is there a way to provide automated feedback to the users advising them on reporting and what they should or should not do?
